I was raised by my father, Sri.N.L.S.Sastry, my mother, Smt.Girijamma, my amazing parents, with values, love, care and guidance to become a responsible person. They inculcated good values not just by preaching but by practising and how hard work and sincerity play a huge role in making us achieve any task. In those days, they prioritised education, learning arts, music, dance, playing sports and leading a life that is helping people in the family and society. They had great bonding with extended family, friends and neighbours. I watched them being appreciated by family members and friends as supportive, helpful and reliable. They provided the best possible life for me with a caring approach. My mother was a working woman in those days and never settled for anything less when it came to perfection, be it at home or her work in office. Her beautiful handwriting, melodious singing, artistic rangolis, delicious cooking and neat and tidiness were all appreciated by people. My father was a hard working, systematic, meticulous, organised and caring parent to me. He loved, protected and supported. He made the family his world and everything was worked out keeping this in mind. Both my parents lavishly praised and felt proud of any success achieved by me. To them, I was probably the best always. I’m and will always be proud of my parents and they are the best ever for me.
My husband ,Prof.G.Mohan has been a constant source of encouragement and motivation for me. With no expectations about my decision to work, switch jobs, take some pauses, he has been my biggest supporter. Each conversation with him brings clarity and he has ensured that family is secured even while I was busy with long hours of work due to professional commitments. He has guided, encouraged and supported me in each step and any success achieved truly belongs to him too.
My two sons,Aditya and Athreya have been most adorable and absolutely endearing. They have made me proud of their conduct, understanding, involvement and love in our family. They managed the routines and hectic schedules as children of working parents in a nuclear family with brilliance. They have turned out to be multi-talented and achievers in many ways. They make me proud not just by their achievements but by their deeprooted value systems to be well mannered and respectful.
My brother, Ashwin as my younger sibling, has been showering love and standing as solid support always. Even when he was a child, he would get affected if I was hurt and become emotional. As we grew up, he, being younger, would finish his exams earlier and support me when I was still preparing for my exams. While my parents went to work, he would stay at home, preparing milk and coffee for me to consume, ensuring nobody disturbs for days together. This was invaluable and great support.
My teachers from my preschool days to PhD have a huge role in making me what I’m today. So are my colleagues, teams I worked with have made me grow, achieve and enjoy work.
My in-laws, extended families, friends and relatives all have made a remarkable impact on who I’m and how I turned into an academic administrator from a research scientist. As a person, each family member and all those whom I have met in my life helped and crafted a personality in me to be a Principled and responsible individual.
I take a bow and say Thank you to all of them.
